VMC i.e. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation will now reconstitute construction waste that is produced in the city. The civic body has hired an agency that will collect all the construction waste from the city and will process it to make paver blocks and bricks.

This decision is taken by the Vadodara civic body under the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016. The body was trying to hire a contractor for the same but managed to get one who volunteered to carry out this task of recycling construction waste in the city.

The company itself came up via the bidding procedure to make this task work.

VMC, Vadodara civic body will incur a cost of Rs. 400 per metric tonne that will be paid to the company in the first year to recycle construction waste. This waste including debris produced from the demolition of structures and the civic body is also planning to give a hike of five percent in the next years of the projects.

The civic body will offer three acres of land at a rate of one rupee per square meter.

The Vadodara is administered by the Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan [VMSS] and Vadodara Urban Development Authority [VUDA]. This third largest city of Gujarat State is divided into four zones and 26 wards.

Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan is responsible to carry out development work in the city and Vadodara Urban Development Authority is responsible to carry out holistic development in the city.
