The Uttar Pradesh State Government assigned the target to build housing units at district level under the PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna Rural] Scheme. This target is set for the current year i.e. 2018-19.
Anurag Shrivastav, the Principal Secretary for rural development department shared this news. All district commissioners, district magistrates and the chief development officers across the State have received the copies of this letter along with a guide.
The Principal Secretary said, that the State Government has identified 11,82,574 beneficiaries after considering the priority waiting list [PWL] out of which 2,00,000 residential units houses will be built in the current financial year i.e. 2018-19. According to Shrivastav, these housing units will be allotted to the aspiring homebuyers falling under Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and any other minority communities. The lists of beneficiaries have been finalized after receiving resolutions by the State Government from all district authorities.
The chief development officer at Pilibhit, Vijay Krishna Bhagwat, said that each beneficiary will receive Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand in his/her bank account. This amount will be deposited in three installments for the construction of a home. These installments will disburse Rs 40,000 in the first installment, then Rs 70,000 and finally Rs 10,000 in the third installment.
Although, the second and third installment will be released after the construction work of the housing unit will reach in the respective stages. Earlier this year, the Uttar Pradesh Government delivered highest number of housing units under the PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna] Scheme.
