After notifying the transfer of flats in societies under Chandigarh Scheme for Transfer of Flats/Dwelling Unit in the Co-operative House Building Societies, 2018, the estate branch of the finance department of the UT administration the registrar of co-operative housing societies-cum-DC office has started the implementation process of the notification on ground level.
Mandeep Singh Brar, Chandigarh DC deputed duties to the concerned officials who will set up camps and will be responsible for the desk for proper implementation of the notification which majorly focus on the transfer of ownership works. Approximately, 10,000 flats are located in the southern sectors of the city which includes sectors from 48 to 51. All these four sectors fall under the notification.
The flat holders in co-operative societies can now sale and purchase flats due to the transfer of flats procedure as they will have ownership rights. This policy is valid only up to June 30, 2019 and the procedure to accept applications for the same is likely to start soon.
According to the notified transfer of flats, the flat owners in housing societies are required to attach all the necessary documents and other important papers with the application. As per the officials, the concerned department is also preparing the list against all work to make the process of flat transfer hassle-free for the residents. As per the information, there are nearly 108 co-operative housing societies in the Chandigarh city.
The transfer of flats was struck since January 2014 as the process was halt and nearly 40% flats were transferred prior to that.
