In order to solve the issues of home buyers, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) is all set to open its western UP bench in Greater Noida in next few days. It is said that the bench will hear 4000 complaints every day from both Noida and Ghaziabad which were unheard from last few months.
According to officials, the western bench will function from the old building of the Greater Noida Authority’s office in Gamma 2. While two members will sit here and look after the complaints, the rest two will hear cases from Lucknow office.
Sources said that after repeated complaints of homebuyers from Noida and Ghaziabad, UP RERA has decided to start their functioning from here, as they found that major complaints are from these two regions only.
They further said, “Around 6,000 applications related to real estate were waiting to be heard across the state, of which 4,000 were from Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad region. UP RERA has four team members in total, who will now sit on rotation in the offices in Greater Noida and Lucknow. The Greater Noida bench will hear cases every day so that the backlog can be cleared.”
According to committee members, UP RERA is also trying to set up mobile courts so that RERA officers can get closer to complainants. With this, the hearing process will also be decentralized and thus mobile courts will further streamline the process.
Recently, former chief secretary Rajive Kumar has been appointed as the chairman of UP RERA. Apart from him, the Government has also appointed Kalpana Mishra, Bhanu Pratap Singh and Balvinder Kumar as members of the RERA committee.
