Punjab Government to Launch Two Housing Schemes this Festive Season

The Congress-led Punjab Government is all set to launch two housing schemes during the Navaratra festival. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, the minister for housing and urban development said that the women homebuyers and the senior citizens will be given preference in both these housing schemes.

Draw for the allotment in these schemes will be held on December 11.

Bajwa, the housing and urban development minister in the Punjab Government said that ADA i.e. Amritsar Development Authority will invite applications for allotment of 140 residential plots at new Urban Estate, Batala, Gurdaspur. The minister also said that the provision of allotment under preferential category has been made in the housing scheme to provide social security to the old age people and women.

Under this scheme, the price is fixed at Rs. 9,990 per square yard. The process of application acceptance will commence from October 10 and the applicants can submit the same with Amritsar Development Authority. The scheme will close on November 9.

The Punjab Government is going to launch a housing scheme in Bathinda in which the draw will be held for the allotment of 74 residential plots.

After the allotment of plot via draw, the beneficiaries are required to deposit 10% price of the plot as earnest money. This deposition of money should be completed with the application after which the person is required to pay the next installment of 15% within a month or in 30 days of issuance of LoI [Letter of Intent]. The beneficiary can pay the remaining 75% amount in lump-sum as he/she can avail a rebate of 5% on this. Else a person can also pay 6 equated half yearly installments with interest12% per annum.

People can also submit applications online by visiting www.adaamritsar.gov.in. The applicant is required to make a payment through RTGS/NEFT when applying online. The possession of the plots will be handed over to the allottees within 90 days from the issuance of allotment letter.
