The Punjab Government’s revenue department has completed the around 1.4 lakh property registration online under the digital system that was started on June 27, this year. Vini Mahajan, the Additional Chief Secretary [Revenue] Punjab Government said that the State is the first in Country to begin online registration of properties.
Mahajan further said that the ‘Tatkal’ system of appointment for property registration will also be launched soon and other than digitization of property registration, the Revenue Department will soon launch a pilot project for Revenue Court Management System in Amloh and Fatehgarh Sahib. The current system has been integrated with land records at the time of filing a case. The system automatically fetches the details including that of the petitioners and respondents at the time of filing a case. Also, there is a system to auto-generate data on the basis of Date for different courts, interim orders and final judgments which are then uploaded on the website. The stakeholders can also receive the message and check their application status alerts apart from the system generating summon notices.
A digital mapping project is also launched by the Revenue Department to delineate land boundaries in two villages that are Mundi Kharar and Harlalpur of the Mohali district. This project clearly showcases small details of the land and thus helps the property owners to find their records in the least possible time.
A modern working room is also been set up by the Revenue Department for which the tenders are already floated by PWD [Public Work Department]. These rooms will be first set up in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Ropar, Kapurthala and Mohali.
