The area will get better infrastructure and living conditions as the 60,000 affordable houses are proposed to built here under the PMAY [Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna] Scheme. For the first time, the affordable housing project will get constructed under the PPP [Public Private Partnership] model. These residential units will be built in all eight zones of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation for which 2.5 FSI has been allocated.
MHADA – Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority is the state-level authority and will supervise the construction of these residential units. Currently, the State focuses on constructing 19.40 Lakh residential units of 322 Sq.ft. area till 2022. MHADA will decide prices for 50 percent of these affordable houses and the private builder can decide on the pricing of the remaining ones.
All this housing project will be enabled with solar power system, sewage treatment plant, solid waste management, and rainwater harvesting system.
Currently, the private builders are invited for tender submission to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). A builder with the maximum number of apartments in its proposed plan will get the contract to build affordable housing project under the PPP [Private Public Partnership] model. This is a dual township project where the builders’ application will be assessed by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) which will be sent to the State Government for final approval.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will construct 10,000 housing units and the Private builder will build the remaining 50,000 housing units.
