Noida-Greater Noida Metro Rail

NMRC i.e. Noida Metro Rail Corporation announced the commencement of metro trail run on the Noida-Greater Noida stretch of 29.71 Km which is expected to be operational by October this year. Formed in the year 2014, NMRC incurred cost of Rs. 5503 crores in this project and also roped DMRC [Delhi Metro Rail Corporation] to get this metro route completed.

Prior to this, NMRC was carrying out trial runs only on the 10Km long stretch between Greater Noida’s Depot and Noida’s Sector 149 Metro Station. While from July 25th DMRC commenced trial run on the 23km stretch of the 29.71km Noida-Greater Noida Metro link.

Earlier, the trial run got delayed due to incomplete signalling and electricity wire laying work in few parts. PD Upadhyay, executive director NMRC said that with the completion of signaling work, the corporation will now carry out a full trial run with six metro rails on daily basis during 10 am to 8 pm. The trial will be carried out for two months and then the Research Designs and Standards Organization [RDSO] is likely to inspect the track to issue necessary clearances.

This aqua line metro connecting Noida-Greater Noida is estimated to have 1.2 lakhs ridership every day which will increase by manifolds in the future. The metro link work got completed in three years and the corporation has six trains currently while five more trains are awaited to reach here in the coming one month’s timeframe.

Noida-Greater Noida metro route will have stations at sectors 52, 51, 50, 78, 81, Dadri Road, sectors 83, 137, 142, 143, 144, 147, 153, 149, Knowledge Park 2, Knowledge Park 1, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1, Alpha 2, Delta 1 and Depot station. All these stations have separate entry and exit gates along with hi-tech escalators, stairs and lifts for the differently abled people. Approximately, 20km of the route line is in the vicinity of Noida and the remaining route falls under the jurisdiction of Greater Noida.

This 29.71Km long stretch runs that a height of 23 meters from the ground and also cross over the 165km stretch of Yamuna Expressway.
