Nila Mohanan is appointed as the interim chief Goa RERA. The Government took the decision to appoint Nila as the interim chief of the RERA authority because of the transfer of bureaucrat Sudhir Mahajan to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Earlier, Mahajan was heading the Real Estate Regulatory Authority in this Union Territory.
An order was issued by the Government that stated the secretary of Urban Development will now take over as the regulatory authority. Although, the UT also don’t have a full-time urban development secretary.
Nila Mohanan is the full time IAS officer as secretary of Education and Revenue. The officer has also given an additional charge of Secretary, Urban development secretary.
R Menaka, director and additional secretary for municipal administration informed that the Government of Goa hereby appoints secretary urban development as the regulatory authority for the purpose. The order will come into effect immediately.
Earlier this month, Goa planned to launch the national generic document registration system [NGDRS].
Nilesh Cabral, the law and judiciary minister had told that the residents have to upload all the related documents online and will be required to visit the office of sub-registrar for one time only to complete the registration process.
The minister also informed that automatic stamp duty registration will also be introduced soon. The minister also said that the residents can call or message him on his mobile phone directly if they face any difficulty or glitches in using the national generic document registration system.
The minister also said that earlier residents had to visit sub-registrar’s office multiple times to complete the land registration process.
