In a recent development, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon commenced the process to identify and mark all its properties across the city in order to minimize the case of land grabbing. Also, a unique code is planned to be attached with all its properties that include empty plots and buildings.
The sources said that the civic body will mark over two-and-a-half-thousand acres of land in the city in order to track all its properties. Presently, the Municipal Corporation has documentary records of all and the unique code will allow them to update the database.
One of the officials informed about figuring out the properties while generating a unique code for all of them individually along with updating their database with several details like status and ownership of the property. All this will prove beneficial to track our properties in a hassle-free manner the official said. While talking further the official said that we have already begun the process to identify and mark properties. The planning department is expected to complete the entire process in next 15 days.
The civic body also plans to put up boards on the empty plots to identify them as the property of Municipal Corporation. The sources said that the civic body owns approximately 2,500 acres of land in the city and out of this a minimum of 196 acres has been encroached.
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram is also planning to make use of the empty properties in order to protect them from encroachment as it will also generate some revenue. The land encroachment is a big issue in the city and this leads to revenue loss.
