Good news for Maharashtra home buyers! Now anyone who plans to invest in real estate can get the exact location of RERA registered projects on the website. The data will be updated on the website in another two months.

MahaRERA will complete its one year on May 1. So to mark this occasion, a GIS (Geographical Information System) will be available on the website of MahaRERA so that one can start searching for the property instantaneously.

Giving information about this technology, MahaRERA secretary Vasant Prabhu said, “The new feature will enable mapping of registered projects. This, in turn, will allow prospective buyers to get an idea of projects in their area of interest, details, and amenities in the vicinity.”

He further said that since last year CM Devendra Fadnavis has been advocating GIS mapping of all registered projects but due to some technical issues launch of this technology got delayed for a year. Till date, a total of 16,125 projects have been registered under RERA and now all of them will be GIS mapped.

RERA, when implemented made a compulsion on developers to get their new and ongoing projects registered. This has led to the creation of a powerful database. As per the authorities, this database will now help streamline the real estate sector and the GIS-enabled system will help streamline it for developers and investors.

Maharashtra CREDAI president Shantilal Kataria said, “The initiative will boost investors’ confidence in investing as the mapping is done by MahaRERA. It will also streamline more projects which were announced this year after the government took measures to revive the sector.”

With this technology, now homebuyers can easily find a home of their choice sitting at home as the projects will appear as pins on the map. They can also scan the amenities around the project like schools, transportation facilities, and hospitals.
