In a recent development, Arun Vir Singh, the CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), has assumed additional charges of the nodal agency, Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), created especially to look after the work of Jewar Airport Project.
On August 28, Arun Vir Singh has been asked by the state Govt to take over the charge as NIAL’s CEO. Assuming the charges, Singh said, “I have taken over charge as CEO of NIAL. This is an additional responsibility along with that as the YEIDA CEO. The authorised capital of NIAL was Rs 10,000 crore.”
He further added that as CEO of NIAL, he has to manage the affairs of the company and also take decisions regarding financial agreements along with NIAL chairman Anoop Chandra Pandey.
According to the NIAL’s official, Singh will be the key facilitator to float tenders related to airport project and choose concessionaires on behalf of the government.
“My role will be to prepare documents related to bids and concessionaires and also float tenders following series of meetings. I will also look into the final selection of concessionaires and ensure finances within the stipulated time. NIAL will work together with the selected company for all airport-related matters on behalf of the state government,” Singh told media.
The UP Govt. had established Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) under the Indian Companies Act, 2013, on August 28 to implement the Jewar airport project. The first annual general meeting of the entity was held on September 25.
A few days back, in a significant step, the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) report for Jewar Airport has been approved by Anup Chandra Pandey, UP chief secretary in a recently held meeting in Lucknow. After the meeting, the SIA report has now been sent to UP CM Adityanath and civil aviation minister for his approval.
