Moving forward in the current land acquisition process for the proposed Jewar International Airport, 1591 more farmers gave their consent in this regard. With this, the administration has got the permission of about 597-hectare land to be acquired out of 1264 hectare needed for the first phase of development.
The district administration is still continuing its work on getting more farmers on board. According to Jewar’s deputy collector, Abhay Singh, “We are continuing the process of land acquisition on a daily basis and more and more farmers are coming on board. Today the grand total stood at 1591 farmers with 597 hectares acquired.”
In order to speed up the land acquisition process, the district administration is working overtime to get the requisite 70% consent from a total of 8300 landowners. The team is working at two levels. “One is at the district administration level which is facilitating the consent taking process at Jewar SDM’s office, another one at the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority (YEIDA) level wherein they are also receiving applications in its Greater Noida office. In the evening, the total data is compiled on a daily basis to arrive at the grand total.” Added Abhay Singh.
Industry bodies extend their support
While the administration is working day and night to get the consent of the farmers, many industry bodies have extended their support to the farmers of the six villages whose land will be acquired for the proposed international airport in Jewar. These bodies include Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), the MSME Industrial Association, Noida and, the India Industries Association (IIA).
Giving more information on the above, Brajesh Narayan Singh, DM Noida said, “We have got assurance from industry bodies and groups who are ready to support the administration and the government in the rehabilitation of the farmers. We are also scheduling meetings with Information Technology bodies such as NASSCOM for their help.”
With Jewar Airport, the growth of industrial zone of Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway will surely move on the positive path. Also, the overall real estate market is expected to get a big boost.
