Earlier this week, the Jaipur Development Authority cleared encroachments from its land of worth Rs 300 crore and sized 25 bigha land parcel. This piece of land adjoins Dravyawati River Project close to Bambala Pulia on the Tonk Road.
According to an official, of enforcement wing the mafia built restaurants, shops and shacks on the land located in Sheopur area of zone-8. The official also informed that a protestor identified as Ashok Khateek is also asserted for interrupting peace.
The Jaipur Development Authority raised fencing on the cleared land. According to an official the development body is also planning to auction this land for a hotel and also informed that the authority is hoping to generate revenue of Rs. 300 crore from the auction.
The development body aims to recover the cost incurred in the Dravyawati River Project cost after by staging auction of the land on the other side of the river.
The Jaipur Development Authority is planning to develop Commercial and residential complexes near to the river after reclaiming the land parcel.
According to the source, after seeking permission from the State Government, the development body is planning to auction approximately 125 hectare of reclaimed.
The A zone commissioner at JDA said that we want to develop the land on the pattern similar to developed countries as the land was encroached and was underutilized. The authority plans auction of land for multiple projects following rejuvenation of the river.
The development body will also keep the record of the land reclaimed land under the Dravyavati River Project online.
According to officials, the Dravyavati project enhances the beauty of this city and will also strengthen the residents economically. The civic body has reclaimed several hectares of agricultural land at the basic rate of Rs. 20,000 per square metre and is expecting to earn revenue in crores.
