The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority [MMDA], allotted flats to exactly 221 residents in Dehradun’s Transport Nagar area via lottery system.

After receiving an allotment letter, excited Phool Chand said now I can live in my own house with full freedom as his next move is to approach banks for availing homeloan.

CM Trivendra Singh Rawat congratulated all the residents who got dwelling units under the lottery system and said that he expects that the residents will celebrate Holi festival in their own homes.

The MDDA officials said that the beneficiaries will only have to pay only Rs. 3.5 lakhs out of the total cost of each dwelling unit that stands at Rs. 9 lakhs.

However, MDDA [Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority] is offering a subsidy of Rs. 3 lakh and the Central Government is offering Rs. 1.5 lakh through Prime Minister Awas Yojana [PMAY] Scheme while the State government is contributing Rs. 1 lakh via its housing scheme.

Earlier last year, Ashish Srivastava, the Vice Chairman of Mussorie Dehradun Development Authority had said that the dwelling units under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna [PMAY] will be completed within the set deadline. These affordable housing units are being built on Sahastradhara Road and Transport Nagar, under PMAY Urban.
