On 20th September, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar sanctioned notification of 535 colonies. These colonies will come under the Haryana Management of Civic Amenities and Infrastructure Municipal Areas (Special Provisions) Act, 2016 which built up the road to offer essential amenities services in these colonies.
The colonies are segregated as 254 of them will fall in the Municipal Corporations, 100 colonies in Municipal Councils and 181 in Municipal Committees out of the total 353 colonies.
The residents also got relief as the previous arbitrary fixation of the development charges and the statutory fee has been fixed at 5 percent of the collector’s rate along with the regularization norm.
Other than these 535 colonies, 32 colonies in Gurugram, 9 in Faridabad, 23 in Karnal and 29 in Panipat which tally to 93 are also declared as Civic Amenities and Infrastructure Deficient Municipal Areas. More than 200 colonies are under consideration and are expected to be declared as Civic Amenities and Infrastructure Deficient Area in future.
Earlier, the Haryana Government directed to the Ansal developers to hand over two licensed colonies to the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon. The residents of these colonies which are Sushant Lok 1 and Palam Vihar will now avail basic amenities of water, drainage, roads and street lights from MCG i.e. Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon.
It was Ansal developers who were responsible for the maintenance of property till now but the same is now changed as Gurgaon’s local body took over these colonies.
