The Manohar Lal Khattar-led Haryana State Government is planning to prepare a master plan to develop a city in Faridabad. The sources said that this city will be spread over 56,000 hectares.

The urban areas of Faridabad will be inducted in this new city and the rural part of the city will offer expansion of the new city.

The development of new city will offer a possibility to develop five new cities and they all will be close to Kundli-Manesar (KMP) Expressway. The Haryana State Industry and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has invited consultants to prepare Master Plan 2040 for the new city however the deadline or completion time for the same is not set.

The city will be located in the south-east direction of Delhi and it will share boundaries with Faridabad in north-west and Uttar Pradesh in north-east.

An official of HSIIDC said that the region offer smooth connectivity with urban centers via NH-2, state highway 22A, KMP, and other main roads in the district. The official further said that the land pooling guidelines laid by the government will be followed to acquire land for the development of this city.

In December 2018, Krishan Pal Gurjar, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment announced to start metro link between the Gurugram and Faridabad as it will offer smooth connectivity to commuters. He also said that this 30-Km long route is expected to be operational by 2021.
