The MCG i.e. the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram took stringent action against unauthorized construction in the city and demolished six illegal buildings in Rajiv Nagar recently.
According to an official, this establishment comprised of five commercial and four residential properties.
A team of Municipal Corporation of Gurugram led by Vishal Garg, the executive engineer carried out the demolition drive in the presence of city police.
One of the officials said that these establishments were developed without the consent or approval of the Government agencies that are must to be obtained under the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act 1994.
Yashpal Yadav, MCG commissioner said that the authority is communicating with the property owners on a regular basis and is informing them that no construction can be made without the approved building plans approved.
As per the sources, the civic body will continue the demolition drive against the illegal construction after a small break.
The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram issued more than 840 notices against encroachments. In addition to this, 389 demolition orders are already passed between April 2018 and February 2019 and 156 sealing drives and 141 demolitions took place in the same period. The civic body also demolished 2,489 temporary encroachments in the time from April 2018 to February 2019.
An application is also launched by the MCG that will be useful to record and report data related to illegal construction in their respective areas.
The MCG also seek support from the residents to figure out illegal constructions in their nearby areas. The residents can report encroachment and illegal construction on the WhatsApp number 9821395180.
