The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram i.e MCG has decided to acquire the maintenance rights of Suncity Township this month. The civic body took this decision as the demand for the same has been raised from a long time. The Gurugram Municipal Corporation will take over the township by 31st January inspite of the incomplete works on roads, water supply, streetlights, etc.
Earlier this month, the Essel group, developer of Suncity Township submitted the detail project report [DPR] to the civic body and marked all the infrastructural deficits to make the takeover process easy for the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram.
This township is the first private residential colony falling under MCG and thus a civic body team visited the township on Sunday. The team also examined the remaining aka pending work in the vicinity of the township and then set January 31 as the date to take over the colony.
The Corporation will now incur the cost of pending work in the Suncity Township and this pending work was earlier supposed to be carried out by the Essel group, developer of this project.
Earlier a survey was conducted jointly by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and Residents Welfare Association and then the residents of this township emphasized that the civic body should take over the maintenance rights of this colony immediately.
The civic body team is suggested to reconstruct the roads as they are in bad condition. The roads are peeling-off and are damaged at various places. Apart from this, there are issues in the water supply infrastructure and that is required to be dealt with to fulfill the water requirement of all families residing here.
