Ashish Srivastava, the Vice Chairman of Mussorie Dehradun Development Authority also known as MDDA informed that the construction of dwelling units under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna [PMAY] will be completed within the set deadline. These affordable housing units are being built on Sahastradhara Road and Transport Nagar, under PMAY Urban.

MDDA’s Vice Chairman made this announcement after inspecting all housing units and projects. He also said that the work on Sahastradhara Road project is expected to be completed by December and the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna scheme in Transport Nagar will get there letter of possession in the coming 15 days.

A total of 1,030 flats are being built in Sahastradhara Road and Transport Nagar and according to a senior official, the possession letters of 566 dwelling units have been distributed. The official also said that exactly 464 residential units are under construction. The official shared more information and said that out of these dwelling units 240 flats are being constructed in Sahastradhara Road and 224 are located in Transport Nagar.

The Mussorie Dehradun Development Authority will soon release the list of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna scheme. According to the Officials, nearly 1,400 families applied for affordable homes and the list of eligible applicants will be released once their verification process is completed.

Earlier, the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority [MDDA] planned to build 400 affordable homes for the low-income groups. All these dwelling units will be delivered to the people falling under EWS [Economically Weaker Section] and MIG [Middle Income Group]. Also, these homes are proposed to be built on the outskirts of the Dehradun city.

According to an official, the MDDA has already received the location of granted land by the State Government and the DPR [Detailed Project Report] for this housing project lies with the Urban Development ministry.
