DDA i.e. Delhi Development Authority has planned to conduct an online survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana [PMAY)] Urban. The applications under this can be submitted online on the DDA website. Visit www.dda.org.in from August 1 to September 30.
A senior DDA official said that this initiative is being introduced to assess the demand for housing in the national capital city and this will also help us know the number of beneficiaries under PMAY. A database will be created and presently the assessment is being carried out mainly for the economically weaker sections (EWS) category.
Earlier in June, the Ministry of Urban and Housing Affairs clarified that the applications under PMAY will be forwarded to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) or DDA. Following this, the Delhi Development Authority flooded with applications for houses under PMAY. Not just this, the applicants have started to visit headquarter of authority at Vikas Sadan.
While witnessing the heavy rush, DDA informed applicants that the applications will be invited online soon and also said that the authority has not introduced any EWS Housing scheme to allot dwelling units under PMAY. DDA also said that the scheme will be made public via television, radio and more whenever it is launched.
The applicants can apply on DDA website from 1st August if they wish to be considered under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (Urban), Affordable Housing Projects (AHP) and subsidy for Beneficiary Led Individual House Construction or Enhancement.
The Delhi Development Authority will create a database after receiving applications to figure out the exact housing demand in Delhi as the applicants will be considered first whenever the authority launches a new scheme under PMAY.
However, the online application process is not applicable to the residents of JJ colony.
