DDA i.e. the Delhi Development Authority has now decided to bring down the prices of EWS flats in Narela that are being offered under the new Online Housing Scheme 2019. This price drop will be a 40 percent rebate to allottees, officials informed.
There are 18,000 newly-built flats in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj and Narela localities. The Delhi Development Authority has received approximately 50,000 applications in the scheme that closed on 10th June.
In a statement, the authority said that DDA has approved a proposal to bring down the unit value of EWS Flats in Narela, that are on offer under the online Housing Scheme 2019, by upto 40 percent of the construction cost.
The officials, however, said that this decision is taken while assessing the income of allottees of EWS category that is Rs. 3 lakh per annum.
The statement further reads that it was considered appropriate to curtail the unit value of EWS flats by offering 40 percent concession, in construction cost for 6,536 EWS flats that are located in Pocket 1A, 1B and 1C, Narela, and similarly 10 percent concession in construction cost for EWS flats at Pocket G7/G8, Sector V, Narela to offer affordable housing to economically weaker section as a one-time measure.
The newly assessed costs will be applicable to the allottees in the present scheme. Thee authority will advertise the leftover flats again at new prices. All this will prove helpful to construct housing flats at cheaper rates for the economically weaker section.
The DDA Housing Scheme 2019 was launched on 25th March this year with the aim to offer housing units to multiple categories.
