NMRC [Noida Metro Rail Corporation] is hoping to get the Aqua Line functional at the earliest. The corporation has planned to send a request to the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety [CMRS] to carry out the inspection by September-end so that the Aqua line can become operational by October, between Noida-Greater Noida. The earlier deadline for making this Metro link functional by September has been missed already.
According to the DPR [Detailed Project Report], the Noida Metro Rail Corporation requires 11 four-set of metro trains out of which 5 are received here and the remaining six are likely to reach here from China by the September-end. A senior official said that nearly 87% of the work is completed and the signaling of all metro stations will be completed by September-end.
Alok Tandon, the NMRC Managing Director said that that the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety will be requested for the final inspection soon after completing the signaling work which usually takes 15-days for completion.
According to Tandon, the rolling stock work is 40% completed because we have received only five-trains and are waiting for the remaining six. Apart from this, the track work is 100% completed, following which the telecom and signaling, electrical and civil are completed by 80%, 92% and 99% respectively. The installation of 102 lifts and 101 has also been done. Tandon further said that the congestion will be eased as we are offering entryway in the NSEZ area so that the employees of NSEZ [Noida Special Economy Zone] can easily commute up to metro without crossing the Dadri road.
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation [NMRC] is also making optimized-station rooms such as the auxiliary sub-stations, signalling room, telecom room, in order to leave the space vacate for property development.
