The Andhra Pradesh cabinet sanctioned 15,091 affordable housing units in the state this year under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna [PMAY] in NTR (urban) Nagar scheme.
The cabinet meeting that took place at the state secretariat also decided to allot new residential units in the rural areas where the old homes are in bad conditions under the NTR rural housing program. Although there will be certain conditions applicable to the same.
The Andhra Pradesh cabinet also gave nod to revise the terms and conditions of a prior agreement for receiving a credit of Rs. 1385 crores from the open market to develop Machilipatnam deepwater port and industrial corridor in the same area. The Government also decided to offer a one-year subsidy of Rs. 2 per unit in power tariff to the aqua farmers with effect from 1st of August. This total subsidy is going to benefit more than 94,000 farmers.
The State Government has also decided to pay dearness allowance at the revised rates to all the state government employees and pensioners. These revised rates will be applicable from 7.1.2017 and will cost Rs 627crores to the state budget. The cabinet also approved a draft bill for establishing AP maritime board which will work for the development of seaports in the state. The exclusive limits of Kriahnapatnam port were also approved in order to manage the administration of the seaports.
The state cabinet also gave nod to various other important decisions such as work in order to boost the aviation sector in the state by approving incentives for a private airline for plying two return flights per week on Vijayawada Singapore route.
The Vijayawada-Puttaparthi flight services also received a green signal from the State Government with nine seater aircraft on Vijayawada-Nagarjuna Sagar route.
