Alok Tandon, the CEO of Noida Authority is now appointed as the chairman of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority [YEIDA]. The chairmanship of the YEIDA authority was felt vacant after Dr. Prabhat Kumar retired on 30th April. He was chairman of YEIDA for nearly two years.
Tandon is an IAS officer of 1986-batch and has more than 30 years of experience in handling long-term project, resource management and is also an expert in negotiations with regulatory agencies. Earlier to this, Tandon spearheaded a public sector organization of the power sector for nearly four years.
Alok Tandon had a successful stint since September 2017 when appointed as the CEO of Noida Authority then becoming the managing director of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) after which he solely helmed the Aqua Line that was launched in January this year by Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Even being the CEO of the Noida authority, he also handled the additional charge for a short time last year after the transfer of then CEO, Debasish Panda and Partha Sarthi Sen Sharma.
Being the CEO of the Noida authority, Tandon gave multiple sanctions to major underpasses, overbridges and elevated roads across the city.
He will take the first scheduled board meeting as the YEIDA chairman after the elections. The Jewar airport will be the biggest project for the YEIDA authority as they recently gave a proposal to develop the nearby areas of the Jewar International airport as the Aviation Hub.
The Ernst & Young (EY), a well-known international consulting firm submitted report on the same.
