After Supreme Court’s direction, approximately 400 homebuyers of DLF Express Greens in Manesar, received possessions of their home between October 2018 and March 2019 as they were affected due to the Manesar land scam. The possession was handed over after more than 10 years of booking the same.
The Supreme Court directed Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) Limited to complete the process at a fast pace.
This project is one of the three developed on the land parcel that was later known to be disputed. While in case of the other two projects, the construction process has not even started. The construction at ABW Aditya Niketan is midway via Anant Raj Madelia.
The Supreme Court gave this ruling at the time when the DLF Express Greens was completed 95 percent. Thus, in the same case, HSIIDC directed the developer to complete the project and offer possession of the flats at the earliest.
One of the homebuyers said that we have finally got possession of our homes after more than a decade.
The developer is yet to offer possession of 800 flats and the verification process of the homebuyers by HSIIDC [Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation] is complete hence making it difficult for the buyers to sell off the units.
One of the senior HSIIDC officials said that the verification process of buyers of ABW Aditya Niketan and Anant Raj Madelia is also underway. The buyer verification process is ongoing and the remaining process can be completed once the verification process is complete.
However, the other two projects are likely to take a couple of more years to complete, the HSIIDC said. The authority will have to hire an external agency to complete these projects.
In March 2018, the Supreme Court reserved the acquisition of more than 450 acres of land in Manesar that impacted thousands of homebuyers in three projects.
Also, the Apex court asked HSIIDC to evaluate homebuyers’ claim of all three projects and a speedy handover of flats.
